  |   report from the field, zambia   |   No comment

Our Zambia Partnership Trip is well underway this week. So far, our group has participated with students in one-on-one reading time, creating a mural and sharing music lessons. Below is a photo journal of some of the highlights thus far:

After School: Boys hanging out

Lunch Time: Val, Sue and Valerie serve nearly 300 kids lunch

Chores: Students have chores after school like sweeping the classes and watering the grass
Grading Papers: Such beautiful weather that Teacher Dambiri grades the first grade assignments outside as the students await their scores
Reading Partners: Students practice their English in a one-on-one reading activity with trip participants
6th Grade Girlfriends: Fridah, Cecilia, Suzanne, and Lilian
First Grade Buddies: Hanging out after class
Murals about our Community: An art project led by trip participants
Looking for Fun: Students at Hope schoolhouse
Music Lesson: Teaching the students how to use kazoos. We taught them some songs and then they taught us a few.
Looking Ahead: A Future Hope Community School student hanging around the campus
Old Friends: Rich has been spending time with David Mbale since 2009 when he started in 1st grade at the school

Dreaming of traveling to Zambia with Spark in the future? We just opened registration for our January 2014 trip!
