Stay Tuned: Trip Two to Nicaragua!
With only a few days until the first of our travelers departs to Nicaragua for our second Partnership Trip to Las Tias, we are kicking into high gear in the Spark office making final preparations!
This November we are celebrating one year of partnership with Las Tias, an organization started by 8 women merchants to serve vulnerable children in their community through nutrition and educational programming. Through their 23 year history, Las Tías has served over 850 adolescents and 1,060 children. Thus far, we have made a significant impact on the lives of the vulnerable children Las Tías serves by growing their adolescent meal program, supporting a Sociologist and full-time Psychologist, and providing critical support for staff salaries. Over the next couple of weeks, keep an eye out for updates from our travelers and staff members on the ground as they get involved in the work at Las Tias and immerse themselves in the culture of Nicaragua. For an idea of what the trip will be like, check out these posts from the April trip!
